Times are hard out here for New Yorkers, so if anyone thinks it’s a good idea to floss jewelry like your favorite rapper without favorite rapper security, you might end up paying the price.

According to Gothamist, a trio in Queens relieved a man of more than a half amillion dollars worth of jewelry over the weekend. As if that wasn’t bad enough, they used a stun gun to take him down before pulling off the jux. The robbery took place in eastern Queens, where the 39-year-old victim was approached by a masked man in an orange-and-yellow reflective vest who proceeded to stun him and throw him to the ground before a second man in similar attire helped remove the man’s jewelry valued at $559,000.

That’s an oddly specific number, but whatever.

The two then jumped into a silver Mercedes-Benz SUV and made off with quite the payday.

The incident took place near 73rd Avenue and 180th Street in Fresh Meadows, and police are hoping to track down the perpetrators as their investigation continues.

Per the Gothamist:

A police spokesperson didn’t directly address a message asking if there had been any other recent similar incidents involving stun guns or high-value jewelry thefts, but said the investigation was ongoing. Police also didn’t describe the jewelry or say if they thought the robbery was targeted.

The NYPD described the first man as wearing an orange-and-yellow-striped reflective vest, a bucket hat, brown pants, black shoes, a white mask and black gloves. The second man was described as wearing a yellow striped reflective vest, a black hat, black pants, black shoes and black gloves.

Sounds like iced-out homie was lined up or something. Just sayin’. We just hope the man had his jewelry insured because goddamn!
